The utility building consists of a recessed structure, enclosing a south-facing courtyard on three sides. The outward appearance is characterized by the monolithically appearing reed-covered roof. In addition to uses such as an industrial-laundry for the hotel, the building houses workshops, a canteen kitchen as well as a cafeteria for employees and guests.
